I've stayed at quite a few hotels in this area and this is my sweet spot. This year there has been a refurbishment which has lifted the experience. If you can get snag a room for around 1,000 THB you are getting bang for your buck. You want a room on a high floor overlooking the back of the building. The front can be noisy. All the rooms I've stayed in (front or back of the hotel) have these amazing balconies that overlook the city. They are big enough to put a table and four chairs on and are very chill. The rooms themselves are big and spacious. The refurb has brought in mega TVs and air conditioning that actually works well. Not too hot and not too cold! Location, you are seven mins walk away from the BTS which is the main way of getting around Bangkok. There is a daily market 100 meters away with fabulous food at local prices. Also a 7Eleven that - somehow - seems to know what your heart desires before you do. A big shout out to all the staff, but particularly Khanitha CH who speaks perfect English helped me find my dream room.
