Dogan Hotel by Prana Hotels & Resorts - Special Class

This is an absolutely beautiful hotel that doesn't feel 3 star at all. A traditional Ottoman style set of buildings in the Old Town with all expected amenities. Very friendly, food absolutely amazing and room service at reasonable rates. The owner/manager was particularly kind to me as were the staff generally, and I adored the little cat and her family of kittens in the courtyard. My room was upgraded when I arrived, so I was very spoilt with a huge bed, several chairs and gorgeous bathroom, along with copious storage space and a brilliant dresser. The room was clean and was turned over when I asked, with plenty of towels and fresh linen etc. The hotel is in the perfect spot for enjoying the night life and shopping around the Old Town, for pick ups by excursion operators (do go to the ancient cities with Fatima via Trip Advisor) and for walking and travelling further afield. I particularly liked hearing the call to prayer from the historic mosque, otherwise I had perfect quiet despite the live music everywhere in town and slept very, very well on a comfortable bed. Lastly, the courtyard is stunning. I'd happily just sit and enjoy the atmosphere in the hotel under the orange trees. Even with the rain in December, it was a happy place.
