Me and my boyfriend had planned a 2 night stay at the guest house, we arrived into Lisbon at around 9pm so after an afternoon/ evening of travelling we wanted to get to the guest house, freshen up and go out for some food. 
We arrived at the guest house, paid and we were shown our room. It was basic but what we expected for what we knew of the place. We dropped our bags and headed out. We tried to lock the door on several occasions but it wouldn’t lock. We asked reception who came up to check and repeatedly said it was locked even though my boyfriend was opening the door every time. We were told that this was all they had. That they don’t have any other rooms. We were not happy with this, especially from a safety point of view and we didn’t want our belongings left in a room that others could access. We were told that we would have to wait until the next day - Saturday to get the lock fixed which meant we would have to wait around for however long on Saturday. We were only there for the weekend so the prospect of spending a day waiting for the lock wasn’t appealing. We decided that as we couldn’t be offered and alternative we would ask for a refund and find somewhere else. This was now 10pm. We were told to cancel the booking online which we did to then be told we wouldn’t get a refund as it was up to the manager. We asked for the manager to be called but they refused. The only way which we could contact her was through email. We were then offered another room with shared facilities but told we could only have this for one night. We would then need to return at some point Saturday to swap rooms. Again, another inconvenience. We managed to find another hotel at about 11pm which we moved to and arrived at about 11.45. We were tired and hungry and clearly were not going to get anywhere with this. We sent an email to the manager and booking.com and still have not had anything back from her. She has lied to booking.com and now they are refusing to support us and refund us. Some service! The fact that the manager hasn’t even acknowledged our complaint says it all really. 
The place was dingy and wasn’t particularly nice. The bathroom was tiny and bed looked uncomfortable. I really would advise against booking this guest house. The manager clearly doesn’t care about her customers or getting back to them. Luckily we had a lovely weekend in Lisbon, not thanks to this appalling guest house.

DO NOT STAY HERE

I loved it, except for the stairs to the fourth floor or it was my room, it was also true that I had seen it on the sea. Hotel is quiet and very well maintained, gentle staff some of whom speak French. Choosing a room with bathroom, on the fourth floor, 403 and 405 are beautiful and more practical if you are with children because they are older.

Practical and affordable for Lisbon

We are a family that we have been staying for two days. the hotel is well located because nearby we have the cheapest parking lot and a few meters away we are near the Plaza de Comercio. as for the hotel, I would not recommend it for more days than a weekend because the mattresses are a little soft and there are no solo pillows or cushions. as for breakfast there is quite a bit of coffee and some juice and to eat only there is molded bread to make toasts and sometimes crackers, sometimes biscuits. say that as it is located in front of the harbour on these narrow dates there have been concerts and we have had to sleep with the closed window very close because it is noisy, the rooms are in a fourth without elevators with stairs.

A good economic option

This is a very Spartan solution, but at the same time very characteristic. It is located on three floors without an elevator. We had the bathroom on the second floor and a spectacular view of the river. Breakfast not very abundant but adequate. Very welcoming and available staff. Recommended!

I really enjoyed my stay.
The room was little, but perfect for two.
Shared bathroom and kitchen were always clean.
The only thing a didn’t like is the noise outside. I had a room with the window at the back of the hotel and there is a Fado resto and there were loud music every night of my stay.

Cheap and good located

For a guesthouse I would say very well. Strategic position. The room is cleaned every day which for this category I would say top. A little noisy, but you fall asleep with the voice of the fado!!! Negative breakfast. First day fruit, a dessert, bread and jam, coffee and milk. The other three mornings (maybe people got up early), only bread jam coffee and milk. Super good price!!!

The location was really good, but that's about it. There was no a/c in the room, wifi does not work almost anywhere but right next to the router, and their breaktast was almost insulting - just some bread, cereal and coffee.

The staff was nice and helpful, too, and all spoke English and other languages.

Barely mediocre place, but solid location

I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights, I was initially frightened by the previous reviews but when I arrived I reconsidered! I found to welcome us Mrs. Cristina (a very nice and kind person who I thank very much for her availability) who accompanied us to the ns. room with sea view with private bathroom (very simple but convenient). Breakfast ok (fruit, bread, marmalade, milk coffee, cereals).

Simplicity and courtesy

Despite being in one of only two rooms without ensuite, i had a good experience of being at  B.Mar. Staff really helpful and friendly and room was clean.   One of the showers that served my room was a joke (not fit for purpose) but it didn't spoil it as alternative 20 paces away.   Breakfast could do with a rethink but again didn't spoil it, melon/cereal & do you own toast. Cooking facilities available too.  Lisbon in wonderful. 🙏🙏

Cheap & cheerful

It's very clean, super-cortez service, nice breakfast, family atmosphere, great location (almost at the end of the blue metro line, which leads to the airport to the city). Close to the markets, the Av, BeiraMar. The neighborhood is old, charming. I don't recommend walking alone at night, but it's not so badly known. Simple, good and accessible place. The hostel is in a building, without elevator, the only negative point in my opinion.
