The hotel is very picturesque and was perfect for a relaxing last night stopover before heading to the airport.  Excellent choice of evening meal courses and very tasty.  Not very near anything eg if walking in to town then too far but good for a short stay.

Beautiful setting

Lodge at 1 hour form Windhoek, the room are big with sometimes four or five bed. Good dinner. in the room is better have some light and some plug more. Parking lot is very safe with armed people. Pool is available wifi is available

We stayed 2 nights and visited the craft shops in town.
The rooms were large with air conditioning. No hair dryer, but available at reception.

Tranquility

The Okahandja Country Hotel is a very nice hotel a short drive to the town centre and the woodcarvers’ market. Our check in was smooth and efficient and we were greeted warmly. Our room contained a TV, safe, small wardrobe, separate shower/toilet, lots of storage space and a mosquito net. However, it could do with more sockets and the back of the room was very tight in terms of space. The sink and wardrobe faced each other in the room, the wardrobe door doubled at the door to the separate shower/toilet. This area of the room felt claustrophobic and dark. The Wi-Fi is also very slow and temperamental in the rooms but better near reception. Dinner and breakfast were very good, with generous portions and excellent, friendly service. The hotel grounds contain nice lawns, a small outdoor pool, and ponds. The grounds do contain birds that can be noisy and there is a busy main road outside the property so light sleepers may not enjoy it. There is a small bar opposite the restaurant. Overall our stay was short but comfortable bar a few minor irritations due to the room design of this old hotel. The staff warmth overcame that negativity.

Historic hotel with a lovely staff and occasionally irritating room design

Lovely hotel with striking architecture.  Loved the thatched roofing.  Beautiful room and good bathroom facilities all set in lovely garden setting.  Surrounding gardens had lots of little grouse like birds wandering around which added to the ambience.

Gateway to Etosha game reserve

Okahandja is an excellent country hotel set in beautiful landscaped gardens just outside Okahandja.  The hotel is well situated for the airport, Etosha and Swakopmund.  The hotel sits at interconnecting roads that allow onward travel in every direction.  A very useful feature indeed.

The check in and reception was thoroughly pleasant and a warm welcome received, which was a nice experience.  The pool area has ample shade and sunshine (depending on your requirements).  Spent the afternoon at the pool which was thoroughly relaxing and worthwhile after traveling around all over the place.

The hotel and grounds are extremely 'easy on the eye' and have been styled using a 'thatched roof' which looks truly stunning.  A buffet breakfast was served with an 'a la carte', cooked to order aspect too.  Lunch was available and dinner from 3pm onwards, giving a high degree of flexibility.

The rooms were tastefully decorated with comfy beds and were quiet and peaceful.  All-in-all, a good stay in a good hotel.

***Finally,  I would like to offer my sincere thanks and heartfelt gratitude to all the staff who helped me get back to the airport and catch my 'time-bound' flight.

On checking out, with barely enough time to get to the airport, my rental vehicle had a completely flat battery because of a fault.

After using 'jump leads', (this is true), then removing batteries and doing some astonishing mechanical work that involved starting the car against all the odds.  I actually made my flight with about 10 minutes to spare.

A level of service and selflessness and humanity that helped my wife and I catch our flight."***

Truly Excellent 

This hotel is beautiful. The gardens are stunning and peaceful. The restaurant has never failed in providing excellent food. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are large, super comfortable and there is attention to detail.

We stayed there one night on our drive up north. The rooms were clean and spacious. Food was really excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rates were very decent - email to book directly with them. No hesitancy to recommend this if you need somewhere on this route.:)

lovely stopover stay.

Rooms are great. Food is great. I was here years ago for a Wedding and it was awesome. Not much has changed. And they kept the lodge in fantastic condition even during COVID!?! Service is good and the beer is always ice cold. Best place to stay in Okahandja by far!!

A quick stop over when experiencing Namibia. 

The hotel is a great place to layover at. Food is really good and sizable portions. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms have been upgraded this year and are very comfortable. Sports bar and cold beers on tap is a great way to end the day.
