Hotel very close to the centre of Tarija. The staff is very friendly, helpful and attentive to the guests. The rooms are clean, air conditioned and heated. Breakfast is varied with fresh fruit.

Centrally  located but, lack of linen cleanliness, uncomfortable bed!

The staff was very friendly and helpful even with language barriers.  The room was very clean and comfortable.  Good location. Very affordable.  I definitely will stay there again upon any future visits to Tarija.

We really saw this Hostel through its website and it was like they were promoting it and more!!!! The impeccable rooms, the exquisite breakfast and the attention of all the staff was excellent!!! Always attentive to the needs of the guests, advising as to what to do, where to exchange money, etc., etc.!!!

Excellent stay at the HOSTAL Carmen.

It's a simple place, it has small rooms that are simply functional, it has a good breakfast, it's located four blocks from the main square, the attention is a little slow, or you have to ask for a change of sheets, they don't have a cleaning fragrance and for me that's key, but in general it meets the essentials.

Suitable for those who go to work.

We spent a wonderful 2 nights at Hostal Carmen. The room was basic but clean. Staff was courteous and helpful with limited English. Plentiful and varied buffet breakfast. Good location only 4 blocks from the main square.

It's a pretty old hostel, small, humid rooms, need to change the beds of some rooms, attention leaves a little to be desired, the location is good, breakfast is the best you have, acceptably varied.

Super basic hotel, clean, normal breakfast, not very varied. Without any complaints except for the endless stairs, we stayed on the 3rd floor and it was a martyrdom going up and down all day: the attention, cleanliness, good location... everything reasonable with the price.

Basic is basic.

It really costs a lot for what it offers since the distance from the center does not help those who go to Tarija for work. The rooms that overlook the inside are really uncomfortable and not private. Breakfast is scarce, they justify it as sportiva yet the girl who was cooking looks like I finished breakfast to bring me two pancheese!!!!! Besides the plate to make the eggs was very uncomfortable.
