My first visit at Kwetu Residence Inn was in 2015 and the experience was excellent and  the next time i went there in may and i thought it would have changed but instead it was better... either it's personel or other services they were really excellent.
Thanks to Kwetu Residence Inn for their Service.

A very Peaceful place

Every time I go to Kwetu's restaurant, something goes wrong. The first time, I ordered a Croque Monsieur and immediately got food poisoning. The second time, the manager was sitting behind the counter with his staff EATING LUNCH... the employee proceeded to make my coffee while chewing on his lunch. The third time, the cashier didn't have enough change for me, said she didn't have it, and then said "Maybe next time we give you a discount." 

Needless to say, I would not recommend the restaurant. Unprofessional, bad food, and inconsistent service.

I Stayed at Kwetu On sept 2015. It was my 4th Time to Kigali but 1st time to Kwetu, Thanks for everything have You done for me, I mean the Services, your Rooms is very very excellent, Your Breakfast is very very very Good. Thank You Kwetu I will be back in the End of This Year. My Holiday it will be at Kwetu with My Family

Comfortable

My putting Kwetu in the 'Excellent' category is based as much on the whole vision of Kwetu as the standard of accommodation and service. The hotel bit is part of the Film Institute and as such means that you can be part of a community if you want to be! And by staying here, you are helping the Rwandan film industry develop. That is no small matter because films here are used to inform, excite and challenge the Rwandese people, which is all part of serious development and progress. So it was good to know that I have had a hand in supporting that creative endeavour.
The rooms are absolutely fine. They even have plenty of UK electric sockets - for unprepared British residents. There are two shops on the premises, one food/basic amenities, and one chemist/pharmacy for, say, when you trip up over any of those gloriously plentiful and invisible Rwandese steps. What more do you want? Lifts to and from the airport (free), lifts to town and back free for residents (1030 to town, 1600 from town-UTC both via MTN Nyarutarama). There are plans to develop reception to be able to change cash to/from RWF. Also they have just started a campaign to have Thursday and Saturday evenings as film nights so that the local residents of the nearby estate can come together more often. Wifi is reliable - one outage in the two weeks I was there, and it was fast enough for me to watch TV with a VPN but the Institute's students were not around. Might be slower in term time? I heard there were plans to invest in a better cable so as to speed it up even more. It is all well worth a visit so .....

Kwetu. An inspiring idea.

I stayed here in May 2014 on my third work trip to Kigali. It was my first time staying here and it was very pleasant. My room and en suite bathroom were much larger than I expected and it was very clean and in very good condition. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, there is free wifi throughout and the restaurant / cafe has good food and created a good atmosphere as people came and went, holding meetings with work and friends. It seemed a popular place, without being crowded.
The reason it is only 4 stars and not 5 is it's only slight drawback, perhaps more for a first time visitor, is the location. It is not in walking distance to the main centre, but if you have organised a driver and car or are here on work that shouldn't be much of an issue. I'd be very happy to stay here again.

Pleasant and popular

Stayed here in June 2013 - my first two nights after arriving in Rwanda were spent here. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. For my first breakfast there was a power outage but staff was creative in preparing whatever they could not needing electricity. They kept apologizing even though it was not their fault at all - I am easy going when it comes to that sort of thing. 

Hotel was clean - it was noisy one morning as they were doing major construction. Other than that it was super quiet at night and I felt extremely safe - as anywhere in Rwanda (and for that matter in all of East Africa during my entire trip)!

Definitely would stay here again.
