We chose this hotel with our friends for our first visit to the city. Actually, I've been wanting to show my closest girlfriends my favorite city many times. We had very little time: 6 days/ 5 nights, and this place was perfect for our stay. It's two steps from the subway. A beautiful grocery store with a great selection of French wine from the euro.

The patios du Marais are charming because of the concept of colour and style selection when booking. The small apartments have all the kitchen lines, table, chairs and bathroom as well as beds and TVs. They are equipped with everything necessary to cook and be comfortable. In summer it is certainly great to have a little more fun outdoors in the green courtyard.

Green oasis with hostel flair

I booked to stay at Les Patios Du Marais as a surprise trip for my partner for his birthday. We had always wanted to visit Paris together and knew we wanted to stay somewhere full of character and where we could easily walk around the city. The apartment we stayed in was called the 'White'  room and it was utterly stunning. The apartment decor was subtle and sensitive to the beautiful old building it was housed in. The kitchenette and the bathroom were small but perfect for what we needed. The bed was comfortable and the room was warm. There was little to no noise from outside, and the charming garden inside the apartments walls was a wonderful little hideaway. The apartments location was hidden up a typical Parisian street behind a beautifully ornate blue door, and if you carried on walking straight down the street, you met the bank of the Seine and opposite was Notre Dame. We walked everywhere and used the Metro as we wanted to experience Paris on foot, of course there are lots of taxis and other transport just a few streets away if thats what you need. There are some fantastic coffee shops nearby where we went for breakfast, and also close corner shops if you want a few bits back in the apartment. If you're looking to visit Paris on a budget without comprising on the style, then I really recommend Les Patios Du Marais as a little gem.

We stayed in room B3D, which was one of the bigger rooms, at a higher price, but was up 3 flights of cramped stairs. The room was nice and well furnished with a kitchen, dining room, living room, TV and Bedroom w a shower and tub.  Our friends were nearby in much smaller rooms.  Some of the rooms are absolutely tiny, basically a bed a cramped bathroom, but they were cheap.  The main downside is that the office is only open from around 9am to 7pm at the latest.  So if you arrive outside of that time, you can't even get in, as there are locked doors and gates. Fortunately a friend was there already, so he let us in, but we had to wait around a couple of hours for the office to open.  Later we saw an entire family that missed the 7pm close, just stuck downstairs in the patio area.  Not sure what happened to them. So, just be aware of the limited hours and limited service, and if you are ok with cheap and good location, it is fine.

The room is beautifully decorated, seemed to be brand new, very organized. Although tiny, somehow it manages to fit everything that matters with a very confortable bed! 
Had issues with wifi during my whole stay, but other than that, everything was amazing for the price!

RECEPTION AND SERVICE
Although there are no elevators, the young man working at their office on the ground level was extremely helpful and courteous. He assisted us with getting our luggage upstairs and was always available to help out and answer questions. The property also offered us a cleaning service on one day because we stayed for a week.

QUIET
Apartment B3G is in Building B which is away from the street and is very quiet. 

RESTAURANTS AND METRO
There are lots of good restaurants in the area to enjoy (French, Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Italian, etc.). The Arts et Metiers Metro station is close by with supermarkets within walking distance. 

APPLIANCES
The appliances were relatively new and were clean and in good shape. There is a washer but no dryer.

STAIRS
There are no elevators here, so you have as many as 5 floors to climb depending on where you stay. For apartment B3G it is on the 3rd floor. The stairs are small and awkward to navigate because they are spiraled which are easy to slip on moving around corners. 

CLEANLINESS
Sofa and chairs were considerably stained, and we had a mouse in the apartment once during our stay. Beds were clean, and bathrooms were good.

SPACE AND LAYOUT
There is not much space in apartment B3G, so if you have a lot of luggage and 5 people, you will be squeezed. 

Also, the 4th floor bedroom is not great since, you have to walk up the public stairwell to access it on the floor above, which means you literally walk into the bedroom directly from the external stairs (see photos). You need a key to get in every time. Not everyone would be okay with this. There is a small crawl space to access this from the other bed area on the lower floor, but it is only practical for children. The shower is small (we have seen smaller), so if you are not used to this you may find it claustrophobic.

OTHER
* The wifi did not work well in the upper floor bedroom. 

* We only had one key to come and go with for five people.

* The photos of B3G on their website do not paint a full picture of the layout of the apartment which some people may have an issue with once they arrive.

* The indoor lighting is not that great in the evening (we had some of the ceiling lamps cutting off and on that they were not able to fix during our stay), but the daytime lighting was fine.

* TV stations are mainly local French and European channels.

B3G Shinning Apartment (Good, but not for Everyone)

Mini apartment, centrally located and well connected. Each apartment has a type of decoration and on the ground floor there is a very nice garden for the summer. Small but reasonable room for a few days. Tiny stairs, difficult to climb with a medium suitcase! No one ever gets to see anyone from the hotel, little help in case of need.
