What a wonderful vacation.

The hotel is full of drunk russians, there is russian music all the time. Forget the drinks menu, you can get pina colada, cuba libre or bear. The funny thing is that staff leave the hotel with big bags of bottles every night. We didn’t give tips on the first night in reception, so we didn’t get any proper service, for example every time we asked to use the phone from reception, they said it was not working (the phone is charged per minute, it’s not free). You even need to give tips to get the cheese on the burger! Everybody selling fake cigars illegally. The entertainment man by the pool came to our table, sit down without asking, and started explaining how rich we were and that cubans are good people in heart just poor.

The room was not clean, cockroaches everywhere. If you leave tips, you can get at least new towels.

Worst experience ever - avoid

The ocean smooths things down... a joke, of course, I can't say anything bad about the hotel. Expectations coincided with reality, and I didn't expect much. A modest room, with condensate on the ceiling in the bathroom, dripping through the lamp, insects ( ants), little pillows... everything was there, but in the room we just slept over. The terrain is clean, beautiful, interesting. Food is more than enough, alcohol in the bars too. But it's about quantity, not diversity.

We booked for 10 days at this hotel, we were 16. It was our first time in Cuba and certainly our last. Four days out of 10 there was no hot water, another day no pressure. Every day there is no beer or liquor for drinks. In the hotel no toilet paper, no food! In this hotel it sounds like mean Russians. They are looking for chicane, it's impossible to have fun in the disco without it ending up in chicane. On the beach too the Russians are screaming after people. The toilets are not cleaned, there is poop in the ladies' toilets. We also found a hot tub in one of our rooms. In the evening it's almost impossible to get out of the hotel, so it's impossible to get out of the air in the night, so it's impossible to have fun in the nightclub without it ending up in chicane. 10 days

We first settled in a room that left us wanting the best... even without a balcony. But after a long negotiation with the hotel guide, I got a quite acceptable room after the renovation and also with a view of the ocean! It's important to understand where you're coming from and not to wait for a 4* hotel in Cuba under the terms of the UAE or even Turkey.

Not bad for Cuba.

Our air Canada vacation rep told us this was the worst resort in Cuba AFTER we got there. Please save yourself the disappointment and don’t book. We managed to make the best of our vacation because hey we were out of the snow but it was far from what we had imagined. There are no drink options never has the ingredients to make pina coladas margaritas daquaeies mojitos etc. So Your choices are beer or rum punch. No milk for coffee or toliet paper in rooms. Not to mention our room had dirty cutlery and butter packets in it when we arrived and clearly had not been cleaned. Rooms also had cockroaches and doors did not lock properly due to broken locks and we were told the whole week someone would come repair is but never did. As I said we were trying to make the best of it so on the 3rd day we made the decision to no longer ask for things because that only annoyed us and brought our mood down. Our beds only had a sheet on it so we asked for a blanket - no luck out of blankets. We asked for help with the tv one afternoon- told that the tv doesn’t work. We received the complimentary bottle of water that was advertised to be left in our room daily 2 of 7 days and when we asked the front desk we were told the water shipment didn’t come.  No clean towels the entire 7 day’s. The majority of washrooms in the public areas don’t have doors that lock so get used to walking in on and being walked in on. I much preferred to use the washroom in my room but with a never working elevator and 7 floors that wasn’t possible. It seemed like no one respected the place and we found ourselves picking up others trash on the beach/pool. Besides a few exceptions staff where horrible, rude and dismissive but honestly can’t blame them when they have to tell people no all day. I also witnessed a male staff videotaping girls in swimsuits on his cell phone but the real piece de resistance was when a member of our group was sexually assaulted by the cook at the snack bar. The cook asked to kiss her ass but was told no and she offered a hug instead to which he forcefully bent her down and her bit her ass. None of our complaints where taken seriously and we got a lot of “this is cuba” THIS IS NOT CUBA! If you want to experience true Cuban hospitality keep looking!

It's been the best week of the year! It's all wonderful! Nature, ocean, hospitality Cubans!) Hotels are old, but for a stable four...the hotel area is well taken care of, the beach is also being cleaned... And even kill, I don't understand how to fly to Cuba for a holiday in a hotel?!It's a nonsense... the kitchen is diverse, homemade...no complaints))))

If there is a paradise in the world, it's the Varadar region!)))

They are rude, the hotel is dirty, the dinner plates in the buffet have flies and dirt on them. The elevators are filthy and not taken care of. We asked for a roll of toilet paper three times and no one came up to help. Checkout they asked for our pool towels back, we kept them in our room and went back upstairs to get them and they were gone. The hotel charged us 40 CAD for pool towels when we knew they were in our room the night before check out. The hotel is full of pushy Russians who think they are entitled to everything. The people in the next room were so loud we had to shut our balcony door and turn on the AC just to get some sleep. Worst first time experience to Cuba ever!

Worse Experience Ever!

I have been travelling to this resort for the past 7 years and every time I leave I cannot wait to return.  As the closest resort to the airport you arrive quickly to enjoy the hospitality and the beach.  In this world where there are so many options as to where you can spend your vacation time and dollars I highly recommend this property.  It is not a 5 star property but I can assure you if you say please and thank you (Por Favor and Gracias) and tip for service you will have a 5 star experience.

Always Exceeds My Expectations

I'm pretty much in agreement with the previous review, although I'll put the estimate a little higher (subjectively). Basically as Irina124 described, nothing changes, no elevators, no sale of everything and everything (coffee, rum...). I guess the coffee machine in the restaurant worked fine and the cockroaches in the room didn't get it (the grill of the air conditioner was alive), the phone didn't, so it didn't break, and in the rest... Although the restaurant had dirty windows, tables, dishes, air conditioning (the windows weren't allowed to open - the air conditioner was supposedly working), flies, there were not enough dishes and spoons in the restaurant.
