We have been guests in Los Continents for 2 weeks, we really liked the house and all environment, but we had many issues during our stay that couldn’t be fixed.
Manager Sonia was pretty much all the time at your disposal, but the VERY bad smell from the bathroom couldn’t be removed, the house was full of insects, especially in the bathroom (but we guess this is normal, jungle is right next to you), and if there is many people at the property the internet is terribly bad. Assuming the fact that I needed it very much for working this was a huge lack.

Otherwise, nice location, good hospitality, safe area.

The house is nice equipped, but...

We visited during the off season and our reservation had been lost- but this was quickly sorted. The bungalows are across the road from the beach and do look like the pictures. The location is great if you want somewhere a bit secluded and more remote. The beaches are lovely but you’ll need to get taxis into town. There are a couple of small supermarkets and places to eat in walking distance, and Jaguar Rescue centre. 

Our bungalow had some plus points- spacious, good fridge and kitchen and the air con worked really well. It wasn’t as clean as we would have liked it to be, it was dark, and the shower didn’t drain properly. We had trouble with the bathroom door and the outside door. Our upstairs door didn’t lock and the single bed was a mattress on the floor. The jacuzzis were covered but we didn’t mind as we did visit in low season. 

There are some really nice touches and positive things about this place, but we didn’t think they justified what we paid- particularly in off season and without breakfast. 

This would be a good place to stay if you have a car, want solitude and space, otherwise I would recommend looking elsewhere.

I am staying at Los Continentes and will be here for one month for a work related stay.  I am very happy with the manager and staff.  They are friendly and responsive.  The bed is comfortable and the hot water always reliable.  The location is ideal.

Everything was wrong and terrible! The manager of Los Continentes treat to us was awful, she answered in such a bad way like we were thief and made us believe we were crazy and bad persons, when she was the most dishonest and horrible person I met. 

First, she tried to cancel us the reservation weeks earlier, sending a mail that we can cancel the book without any extra charge, what we did not agree as we really need the holiday at the beach.   To get there we passed through many traffic jam and many many hours driving, because from San Jose is supposed to be like 5 hours and we spent almost 8 hours, seems everything was ok because we made it to the hotel, but we get to there and the manager started a kind of insults to us without a valid reason and she cancelled the book for us, also she said she contact us via email and with the platform where we made the reservation and she insist is was true, we did not get a single mail. At 8pm is no time to look for a new hotel so we agreed to stay in the only night she had available, when we had booked three nights. 

The room had not soap, any kinf of soap, as the reservation promises, even the one to wash the dishes. We asked twice for soap but we got it next day at 11am, one hour ahead from the check out. 

And what made me on fire was, that like 2 hours after checked out, I got a confirmation email that said the book has been modified for the only day we stayed, what has no sense because she said she cancelled before, but I was not and later we verify the book has never been cancelled at all and she made everything up!! Also, she has the guts the say that if next time we make a reservation directly with her will be cheaper than with the hotel platform we used, but in the update was even more cheapest with this platform than with her. Liar Liar!

I will never come back to this hotel, even if someone is giving the stay and Im never recomend it ever, even to someone I hate

Worst experience ever

If you visit Costa Rica you definitely have to go to Puerto Viejo, a place with paradisiacal beaches.This hotel is located a few meters from the chic beach in cocles is a comfortable hotel for three people that is well distributed with a mattress bed on the top and another not so comfortable for a child, in the lower part has a refrigerator, microwave, kitchen and flat screen TV and most importantly a room with air conditioning..To rest quietly is ideal since if you stay in the center of this bustling old harbor near beaches with manzanillo you feel that they are beautiful.The good antenna area is very friendly Sonia y Andulai is an expert on the area that you can recommend little explored sites.

A nice hotel in an exceptional location.

The place is beautiful. It has all the comforts of a home, kitchen utensils, pots, dishes, etc. It is very clean and has air conditioning. It is close to places to eat. If you are traveling 3-4 people is more than enough but if you want privacy it is better to think of two rooms.

A beautiful place, ideal for relaxing.

Beautiful, cozy bungalow, decorated with soul. There is everything you need, very spacious. A little hard mattress in the bedroom (feel springs) and low-quality pillows. Everything else is great! Dinner on the terrace, buying ready food in the village. On the recommendation of the hostess, we toured all the beaches in the neighborhood in a rented car, saw absolutely amazing places!!! Compared to the Pacific coast, it's a little less civilization, quieter, cheaper. Wet jungles are great! We highly recommend!!

One of the best hotels in the Caribbean

Stayed here for just one night. The room was fantastic and had everything you need from a balcony with a hammock to a fully stocked Kitchen. 
The reception and staff were really helpful and made you feel welcome.

The only reason I did not give this hotel 5 stars is because the location is not the best. It says it is Cocles however (we learnt the hard way) that it was about a 20 minute walk from the centre of Cocles. This is also where the majority of the restaurants are. 

Despite this would 100% go back! 

Great rooms! Not the best location. 

Just occasionally it is possible to find accommodation like this.
The space... A two storey, detached unit, peaceful & private, very well equipped & good value. Add the fact that the location was ideal for us & the price was less than some quite inferior units, makes Los Continentes a great place to stay.
The staff are also excellent, very helpful & always keen to make sure you have a 'happy time' while staying with them.

Amazingly unusual.

Small house facing the ocean which is on the other side of the road. The hotel is certainly quite far from the village centre but on the coastal road. Well furnished, clean and functional. Very nice home. Wifi ok in the house further away from the reception. Cars have outside parking, no parking inside near the jaguar rescue center to visit imperatively
