Several small dormitories, double rooms and a large dormitory on the roof for the unemployed. Ali, the owner of the place advises you on destinations, you can book tours, transportation, they take care of everything and we come to pick you up at the door!

The perfect welcome.

Ali and Osman helped us finish our last week in Turkey. Lunch is very packed. The bedrooms and bathrooms are clean. We didn't want to leave the place anymore, we felt at home.;)

Fantastic.

The hostel was chosen by us for two main requirements:the rather low price and the proximity to the splendid hot tub, I believe just 100 metres away. the positive aspects: - economical - availability, cordiality and kindness more than present, transferable even in friendship (during breakfasts there were excellent chats - some of the hostel dined together every evening in the common room) - excellent location - breakfast included (not bad if you are around all day except at night and in the morning as soon as you wake up) - payment in euro (except 100 lire Turkish due to the absence of a proper understanding) the negative aspects: - bathroom and common room; an impeccable hot tub at the ground floor and a friendly hot tub at the bathroom floor were impossible to bring together every night) - excellent location - breakfast included (not bad if you're around all day except at night and the morning as soon as you wake up) - payment in euro (except 100 lire Turkish due to the absence of a friendly property) - the negative aspects included - the bathroom and the common room are also quite economical; a clean toilet in the flat floor and

You can do it!

We struggled a little to find it, but only because of the scary taxi driver who took us around the historic center!!! The location is very nice, really just a few steps from the entrance to the Sultan's palace, AyaSofia and the Blue Mosque.

That's great!

I just spent a week in this hostel and I didn't want to leave at the end! First of all the hostel is really well situated, certainly in the tourist area, but it is still very pleasant and convenient to visit because everything is nearby. I would also like to emphasize the kindness of the people who run the establishment, they are there to help, give advice, offer good tea (it happens!). Besides the small dej' is understood and rather cozy, it is even possible to eat it on the roof where there is a terrace with a pretty terrace on St. Sophia! It is not the great luxury but it is perfect for young travelers!

Family friendly hostel

This hostel is very well located behind the blue mosque close to the bars and restaurants without being in a very noisy street. We had a double room on the ground floor which turned out to be surprisingly quiet. The breakfast included in the price is generous and served on the terrace. Ali, the owner is very present, helpful and wary of the scams that lurk tourists. However, the bathrooms and toilets were not very clean or functional.

Pleasant hostel

The Mavi guesthouse has made a decisive contribution to the good success of our trip to Istanbul. Traveling with a friend, we found here a cozy place to meet other people and share stories of life, without ever getting bored or feeling strange from the place. The location is excellent: from the terrace to see The Hague Sofia and the Blue Mosque is a five-minute walk away. It is really easy to move thanks to the proximity to the Sultanahmet tram stop and the reduced cost of the taxis that have returned to us at night. The rooms are small but clean, without a single flaw a three-window room in which it was really hot. but the basement, Ali, is always available to everyone to solve any problem, the transfer to a hostel on the other side of the street should not be a taste of beer.

Better than any expectation

Definitely the best place if you're looking for a great location and a pleasant atmosphere. The staff is wonderful and Ali, the owner, is the kindest and most available person I've ever met. The bathrooms and rooms are not very big, but in the double room you're really good. If you have at least a little bit of an adaptation spirit you won't be able to complain about anything. The hostel has sucked us so much that during our stay we spent most of the evenings there, sipping apple tea, smoking narghilles and playing backgammon with people from all over the world. There is also a well-equipped kitchen that allowed us to cook pasta for the entire staff.

It's a perfect atmosphere.

Compared to the Side Pension where we had stayed a few days before this guesthouse...we were very disappointed..especially to pay a night 10 Euros cheaper, for a room without windows (but clean anyway), and a really dirty collective Sdb...fortunately the reception of the guests and the ptit dej caught up with the mediocrity of this place..where we will never go back.

Mediocre

Guesthouse, very close to the most interesting places, with cheap and clean rooms. Breakfast is served on a cozy terrace from which you can see the Blue Mosque and the Bosphorus. The owner (Ilker) is very available and gives good advice for visiting the city. Wi-Fi connection and possibility to use the guesthouse computer. We recommend that you ask for rooms that are not on the side of the road (if you want silence).
