The staff at Hao were fantastic! I had never been to Korea prior and being able to go back and forth with the staff via WhatsApp prior to my trip was extremely helpful. The photos are spot-on and the room was spacious, clean, and a great value. The location couldn't be better - easy access to everything in Hongdae and just off the airport train line.

Great location and helpful staff

Good: 
1. It is within the shopping and dining area of Hongdae.
Bad: 
1. The bed sheet, floor and toilet are clean but sadly, there are patches of mould in the silicon lining of the toilet. 
2. Narrow staircase up from the second floor to the third floor and there is no light at the stairway. You have to rely on the lights in the corridor, walking up and down the narrow staircase in semi-darkness is not easy.
3. Washing machine is on the rooftop, you have to take a narrower staircase to get to the top. There is a small shed on the rooftop that houses the washing machines, the lower half of the shed door is broken, the amount of dust in the shed is almost 1cm thick. It shows the lack of pride of the owner in his property, especially when guests are allowed to use the washing machine, is that shabby condition something you want your guests to see?
4. The towels are washed but are greyish in colour due to long-term usage. 
5. Boss' responses on hotel booking websites and chat apps are slow. It took him 12 to 20 hours to reply a query.
6. Noise from out side and inside the room. There is a bar/ restaurant right outside the building, customers laughing and shouting late into the night. The ensuite shower has very good water pressure, and water gushes loudly through the pipes of the toilet from the room next door. Every time my neighbours turned on the basin tap or flushed the toilet, I could hear loud noises and didn't sleep well the whole night.

Noisy and Not As Clean As Expected

Great location, near Hongik Univ. station and Hongdae street. 
My room was clean and comfortable with a reasonable price. 
Staffs are helpful and good at English. 
Stayin in Hao guesthouse was a pleasant experience in Seoul ❤️ 

Pretty nice

Great location, it is near Hongik University station, exit 8. I booked the only room available in hoteldotcom and was a triple bedroom just for myself. Clean and comfortable bead. I really recommend this place. Martin and his staff are great. My first stay in a guesthouse and was a great experience. Would stay there again.

Great location, clean and excellent hosts 

This place was great. Having arrived in Seoul on an early flight the guesthouse did everything possible to get my room ready as early as possible. They were happy for me to leave my luggage there for the few hours before I could get in. It’s easy to find and the directions Martin will send you on booking were perfect! It’s in no means hard to find however after traveling long haul it was nice to not even have to think about finding it! It’s a short walk from the metro easily done with suitcase. The room was comfy and had everything I needed. The location is amazing you have bars, restaurants. Shops and a real lively area in your doorstep. Next time I’m in Seoul I will be staying beee again!
