Two-story beds, clean, very dirty, very wet, very wet in the bathroom, full of toilet paper in the urn, the hostel's very friendly, only speaking English.

Not bad hostel in the center of Chisinau

The check-in was a bit chaotic, so i recommend booking directly with the hostel. Otherwise, a great hostel close to the center with amazingly friendly stuff. It is quiet, it is clean, and the staff has really good recommendations for food.

A bit chaotic, but otherwise good

IQ Hostel is a nice hostel only 15 minutes walk from the center of Chisinau. The host was wonderful, helped us with tips about what to do and where to eat. He even looked for us after we finished our vacation to let us know we forgot something at the hostel. The place is well equipped with everything you might need, pretty clean and with personality. Overall we felt we got more than we paid for.

A cozy hostel near the center of Chisinau

I had to stay for a day. The furniture in the hostel is old, so in general it looks old and not quite fresh. I would advise the owner to pay special attention to the cleanliness of the bathroom.

Great location in the center of town, friendly and helpful staff, a very homey feel. As noted in other reviews there is only one shower and two toilets, and two dorm rooms (6 and 8 beds, respectively), but it's a nice enough place and the owner can conduct tours of the region.  Have a quick look around on site before you commit, but as an older male I had a fun time there.

A Great Little Hostel

My favourite hostel during a long trip through Eastern Europe. It's pretty cramped, there's no outdoor space and there's just one bathroom but the owners (Alex and co.) and helpers are super friendly, welcoming and happy to offer advice. Free tea/coffee and sometimes home-made goodies. After a few days it felt like home. Recommended, especially if you're looking for cheap, friendly lodgings and you're not too worried about space or facilities.

Super friendly hostel

Nice little hostel near the centre of Chisinau. Two bedrooms. A bathroom plus a toilet. Convenient kitchen. Good atmosphere with the hostel staff. Good practical advice. Festive. Short lunch. Beautiful common room with TV. Small price. Ideal for young travelers with a small budget.

Nice little hostel.

The hostel is clean and quiet, the rooms are nicely decorated. There is a guitar in the common room and you can meet other nice travelers there. The staff are friendly and hospitable. A bedroom is air-conditioned, one without. I found this option good. There was nothing negative for me.

Cozy and quiet hostel

A disaster.  Arrived at 19:30 for my 3-night reservation — my ETA that I had notified IQ 2 days prior — to find that there was no bed for me.   ‘A technical issue’ I was told, which I later found out from another guy that was being re-located, was a large group of Romanians arriving that had bumped me and others with reservations.  

So IQ Hostel overbooked and we paid the price.

I cannot speak for the others, I do not know where they ended up, but after visiting and rejecting one nearby hostel (no lockers), and a number of phone calls, I was delivered at 9:30 p.m. to a ‘group/conference accommodation facility’, not a hostel.  

On the surface it looked okay.  But I was another kilometer distant from the bus station and only later would I discover the building had no heat, and its WiFI sucked.  

Dropped WiFi connections, lots of white pages, sites not opening.  A real time suck.  Crud.

Sorry, but I cannot recommend IQ Hostel.

A Disaster. Beware:  Hostel Overbooked, Moved to Inferior Accommodations

A very comfortable and welcoming hostel. The friendly staff. I felt good here, it was a great choice. Near the center, 5 minutes from the main avenue, you can walk to many attractions, bars, restaurants, themed pubs, parks, supermarkets... I hope to return here, in a city that offers a lot if you know how to discover it... good fun to all of you! :)
