New iHouse Hotel - Hostel

In this hotel you have the choice between 3 rooms: simple, Deluxe or with balcony. The simple one is a real rabbit cage, no windows, very wet. After asking to change from the smell of humidity, we were in a Deluxe room... still no windows, well, if there is a closed window with a concrete wall, so as seen on the parpings and always no ventilation. Very wet room and a bathroom even smaller than the standard rooms. The bed grins, it's not lattes under the mattress but a wooden board. The rooms are not cleaned every day, if you stay longer than one night (a plastic with just dirty people is served on the deck) because they are not far from the swimming pool, because we can see the new bed next to your feet.

It's a shame to rent rooms like this.

Stayed here for one night and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The breakfast was a buffet style set up and was very nice. Recommend including this with your booking.

The room we got was a relatively nice size but our friends got given a much more snug double room so it may be pot luck which one you get unless you specify maybe.

The room was clean, A/C was good and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. We were happy with our stay and recommend on.

Only down sides for me was that we didn’t get given a loo roll in our room and had trouble locating a member of staff to request one which was a little annoying. The bathroom is also very small and the shower isn’t a great set up, it’s angled up right so pretty impossible to wash your hair/body as you need to hold the shower head while washing. 

Overall stay was good though and comfy beds! Must stress I wouldn’t be put off staying here again. 

Great Stay

We checked into the hotel and was told by the receptionist that for the first night we will stay in one room on the 4th floor, we will then move to a different room for 2 nights on the 4th floor and then move to the 2nd floor for the last night. This was not acceptable but we were told the hotel was full and this was the only way. We then asked what discount we would get off the price for this inconvenience, he laughed and said, non. After some discussion he managed to allow us to stay in the same room for the full duration and showed us to our room, this was not the room we had booked, nor did we receive any refund for the upgraded room that we had paid for but not received.

Overbooked

When we arrived, we checked in, went into the room and fell straight out of all the clouds. Then the view from the window revealed a brick wall at a distance of 10-20 cm. Daylight never gets into this room. Then my friend sat down on the bed through which the Lattenrost broke. Then we looked at what was going on and were greeted first by dozens of bugs (laut hotel is a backpacker's fault) and then we found old boards and boxes. Then we went down to the reception desk and complained. The first few times we tried to offer us a del-room against a price, which we apparently didn't get into the Lattenrost room. Then after three months we wanted to give another room and then the next day we went back to Lauchighen.

Horror hotel (actually 0 out of 5 stars)

We loved having access to the swimming pool and breakfast at the hotel next door. The staff is adorable, the rooms are clean but quite dark because there are no windows (or it looks down the hall).

This hotel is a joke, and the funny part is that it ranks well on booking with photos from another hotel.
Very Noisy, No Windows, No Air, No space in the Bathroom, No elevator...
The bed was very old.

The Worst Hotel in Vientiane

We arrived to our booking.com deluxe double room with private balcony. 
As we arrived at new I house we were shown next door to Mali Namphu hotel (I thought this would be where we had to check in maybe). We were asked to pay more than advertised and had a battle to pay a little less (but still not as what advertised). We were then taken to a small room in Mali namphu with no balcony and no explanation of why we were not staying in the hotel that we booked.
I questioned this and was told they weren’t informed I booked a deluxe room. So after a short wait we were taken to another room.... no private balcony or apology once again. 
I requested to talk to the manager and was presented to a man who could only explain that this hotel was the sister hotel and that ihouse was full. I explained my problem was this had not been explained at check in, I paid more than I wanted to for the room, I was shown to a room that was substandard and then to another room that still did not fit the booking description. I explained my issue was being deceived and a little honesty and room discount at this point would have gone a long way. 
Apparently I was putting up walls and so it was impossible for him to help me. 
After a further struggle I managed to get booking cancelled for free and refund and leave the hotel. I would recommend to avoid this place. I’ve travelled a lot and value for money is not good. The experience of my one hour here was worse than any other in SE Asia where in general people are very honest and polite. Local staff appeared to try and help as much as they could.

Awful experience.

The room we had was a very small room with no windows on the outside, a problem of humidity and a sweet smell of sewage that paid off in the room... the swimming pool and breakfast were served in the hotel next door.

Well placed but spacious

We had booked with a booking for a double Deluxe coffee room at $28.64 US with breakfast included to meet us in the very ordinary room 444 of the New Ihouse to stay polite. We wanted a little luxury and the booking clearly specified that we were fine at the Mali Namphu hotel however. The receptionist at the adjacent New Ihouse came to pick us up directly at the Tookokemain coffee house welcoming us. He told us that there were no more rooms with balcony and we responded with a very emotional sweetness because we were living in the very ordinary room 444 of the New Ihouse.

Confusion through booking and the Mali Shampu hotel

Tv broken. Air con broken. Toilet gurgling all night. Place stinks of cigarettes but has sign saying if smoke in room is $200 dollars fine. Not worth $18
