The Semetei Hotel is ideally located in Bishkek close to the city centre and the various attractions of the city. However, the rooms and floors still have a very vintage side and the post-Soviet decoration can give the impression of being in a spy film.

Flashback to the 80s

Stayed at this hotel 20 years ago when it was still part of a military compound. The lobby area was renovated, but the lift and room facilities were still the same. They still have a system of different prices for people of different citizenship. A standard room with attached bathroom costs 2,600 som (38 US$). Guests from CIS countries pay 2,000 som and citizens of Kyrgyzstan 1,500 som (22 US$)  for the same room. 

Still I think the hotel offers decent value for money.
A major drawback for me is that people are allowed to smoke in their rooms. Soviet traditions do not easily die.

Convenient

All good day! I often go to Bishkek, but I stayed for the first time at the Hotel Semetay. The hotel, which is completely unobtrusive on the outside, surprised me on the inside with a pleasant ratio of comfort, comfort and cleanliness. All the staff are very polite and attentive. The price of accommodation is affordable, the service is good. I want to note the hotel's most convenient and comfortable location. In 2 blocks to the north passes the main avenue of the city - Chuy Avenue. And on Chuy Avenue - to taste the central square of Bishkek - Ala Too Square, the large Turkish capital hypermarket Beta Stoes, the Lyceum, the cinema Rossiya.

Comfort and convenience

This hotel is built from the former Military. Everything is quite modest, but there are no special claims on quality. Very friendly staff, convenient location, walking access to the central objects of Bishkek. If you get a room with a view to the yard, you can see the march of the local guard, if you go out, you can see the mountains! Finally there is a buffet. Cheap and for three. Compensates a large number of cafes and restaurants with different types of cuisine, within 15 minutes of the hobby.

Good for business trips.

It's a typical hotel, you can't say anything special about it, everything is as it should be: clean, cozy, normal staff, to the main attractions and restaurants, hand-delivered, there are always taxi drivers.

Hotel in the city centre

I came from Kazakhstan to Bishkek to visit my daughter, I stayed at the Hotel Semetey. I liked it very much. First of all, they put me in a luxury room. At first glance, it's pretty simple but the only thing I liked about this hotel was the cleanliness and care.

The Hotel of the Seven

Hotel is a Soviet style multi-story building in the centre of the city, to the train station it’s a 20 min walk, same to the main boulevard, to the bus station better take a taxi, the airport is 30 km away.
Rooms start around $ 50 (AC, small TV only Russian) and are partly modernised, quite good and clean. Some do have balconies, some not – same price. Girl at the reception spoke English and was very reliable (taxi at 2 am, information, reservation). Book in advance, it’s very popular.

maybe best value in Bishkek

During a trip through Kyrgyzstan in August 2013, we and a company of 4 people had to stop twice at the Hotel Semetay. It is located not in the central part of the city, but by taxi you can get to the bus station (West) for a small amount (100 soums or about 70-75 rubles). In a couple of blocks from the hotel there are busy streets, with exchange points, shops, market and cafes/snacks. Our company very much liked the two-room rooms for 4 people. In this room there is a separate (second door) room with a two-bedroom, the rest of the room is divided by a nice barrier to the bedroom and the restroom with such furniture, TV and TV. In the room: 2 rooms, the bathroom is very clean, and all rooms are provided for a clean bathroom and bathroom.
