Disliked · I visited this camp many times and noticed the quality of the place degraded a lot, the food quality became also poor

Staying here included a drive through the desert & a couple of stops to see some great sites. This was a lot of fun & the best part of this day.
The camp is in a beautiful location; very private & peaceful. The people working there are extremely nice & helpful. The food was buffet & very good. 
The "tent" was a bit of a let-down, as the everything in it is very old & worn looking, with curtains containing small tears & not too clean looking. The bed was like sleeping on a trampoline. When someone moved, the other bounced.
At night there is a large sitting area under the stars, where there was a small fire burning & they feed you tea. There are coloured lights shining on the mountain. That's about it. Nothing else.

A Lovely Location, but Needs Some Fixing

Be warned - the promotional Camp pictures posted by the vendor are out of date and don’t accurately represent what the Camp looks like. The Camp is infested with cats, there’s rubbish and animal faeces everywhere. The pathway lights don’t work, making it difficult to walk at night. The kitchen is simply a heath hazard (see pictures). The tents are old, smell of burnt rubber and have not been maintained; the Camp generally is extremely run down and need serious investment. It doesn’t live up to the “luxury” label. Management need to invest a lot of money into the Camp before it should accept anymore guests. Positives: the skeleton staff were lovely, and the view amazing.

Simply uninhabitable!

This so called Luxury Camp has seen no upkeep or maintenance over many years. It’s essentially falling apart. 
The kitchen is disgusting, so much so that 5 or the 8 people in our group were very ill. We were in an Intrepid trip and we took photos and reported back to them. They’ve now dropped it from their program.

Really poor.

Rooms were surprisingly large and functional with air conditioning comfort. Shower which is in an enclosed cylinder shape was however very small and cramped. Very nicely furnished with adequate luggage storage space, indoor lounge viewing and also outdoor chairs on small deck. Bed was on the soft side but comfortable. We did have wi fi in our room which was reasonably close to reception. Torch needed at night to go to seating/fire area which is away from the main dining room and a good place to relax with a cup of tea. Buffet meal was ok with water provided and with help of our tour guide staff arranged a birthday cake celebration for one of the group.

Unfortunately we had a bad experience. We were due to stay 3 night, we left after 1 night. This is Jordan and camping - so some flex has to be given however it is billed as 5* luxury and costs £300 per night - therefore expectations are high and it simply doesn’t deliver. The campsite has apparently changed hands very recently. There is a new team who aren’t equipped to run it. The food and dining staff are great. The shower block is clean. However everything else is a shambles. The pathways are cracking with sharp tiles now dangerous, the wooden walkways are coming apart with exposed nails to tread on. The external lighting is haphazard. The communal seating area has furniture that looks as though it’s come from a skip. When we arrived there was old food there from previous days and guests - it wasn’t clean. The bubble pods are tired, with now opaque roofs so the idea of gazing at stars whilst lying in bed is in reality a blur. The bubble pods work on positive air pressure - so are permanently being inflated by a fan - blowing in air from outside - fine when it’s warm, not when it’s cold as it makes it freezing. The heating/air con is supposed to counteract that however the power is flaky and went off every 10-15 mins throughout the night so we were freezing and sleeping clothed and hatted to stay warm - and when it kept coming on, the aircon reset itself and blew cold air and beeped incessantly - no sleep. Then we had no cold water at all. Which meant we couldn’t flush toilets. Then we had no hot water. Then the power to the pods failed so they started to deflate. There is no phone reception. Wi-Fi is flaky - dependent on power too! And you’re 30 minutes from where cars are parked so you’re trapped. All in all a disaster - chalk it down as experience. Unfortunately lots of unhappy customers, staff mutiny and leaving, housekeeping had already gone. So - I would recommend checking to see if it has improved before you stay.

Quality of the bubble tent was average and expensive.   In windy conditions, not a good idea to stay in a tent.  They had good food in the dining area.   In general, tent experience in overrated.    This is from our experience.   If I were to do it again, I would visit Wadi Rum and then stay overnight in Petra or Aqaba.

Average experience

We have not expected the quality and appointments offered in this accommodation - from the bedding to the size and stuff in the bathrooms. Also not expected the wonderful dinner and tea around the fire in the evening. Everybody was polite, helpful and great to deal with - Highly recommended, and as a matter of fact we are already planning to go for a longer stay - as the park itself is wonderful.

Great experience

few general things that you must know and they don’t write it anywhere: 
you may book a stay with dinner or breakfast, just know that the diner includes the food but dosn’t include any water. they will charge you separatlly for this. 
another thing, if you do the terrible mistake and book 2 nights at this place, so whenever you want to leave the camp ( not a checkout ) and go to the wadi rum village ( about 15 minutes from the camps area) they will charge you 30 dinars (!!!) for it. Classic tourist trap. 
Also, and I think the worst part of our stay is the managment of this place. 
The menager of the camp is rude and not proffesional at all. 
the first evening we arrived we said that we need a shuttle from the camp to the village at 8:30 am because we have an appointment at 9:00 am with our guide to go visit Petra the next day. The manager said ok and wrote something down. 
At the morning we arrive to the camp’s gate at 8:20 and guess what? the shuttle is already left and we been told that we should wait until it comes back and then it will take us. it took it 25 minutes to get back, and with another 15 minutes ride of course we were late. so annoying! 
On the checkout day, same thing!
we arrive on time, and once again there is no shuttle for us. It is so irresponssble to take a reservation, knowing people are depending on you to be on time for theire plane/ bus home and all that the manager had to say to me is “ You are on vacation, relax” 
so rude!  not even an appology!
 I would reccomnd you stay away from this place.
