Excellent in every sense of the word.I recommend it in all its aspects very close to Cartagena's superb beaches and a white sand.The manager's personalized attention elevates it to a superior quality in summary who will decide to repeat it.

The best thing about the hotel is its location in El Centro de la ciudad. Its staff is very friendly and attentive, always ready to attend to any client's request. The cleaning is excellent. The comfort of the rooms is correct. The breakfast is little varied but correct.

A good deal of treatment.

French friends or others who can see this message run away from this hotel. You will understand at the end of the message and by looking at the photo. Already the welcome is cold the person who prefers to watch his movie in the couch of the welcome rather than to inquire. We ask for a city plan to walk around: they don't have one. The rooms are old clean boundaries. The air conditioning dates back to the 1960s they are big engines directly in the hallways of the rooms. Breakfast is limited, hot fruit juice, bread with tartinee cream, immeasurable. All this would have deserved an average note just given the double price (and in Bolivia the prices are never higher) but with the whole problem in mind is FUYE!

Get out of here!

Unfortunately the hotel was not what we expected because although it is not very expensive, it is not worth what you pay. After this we preferred not to go to La Paz and continued our trip to Peru.

Not very good.

There is no doubt that the location is strategic, however the hotel rooms can be improved, the bathrooms need refurbishments and the air conditioning must be changed, it does not cool anything, it only makes noise.

There is no quality/price relationship

The hotel is well-located, with a normal breakfast, not abundant. without heating, uncomfortable bathroom, with a water shortage, constant loss of water in the shower, although good care in general. Near the hotel there are places where one can eat, have refreshments at a good price and with a variety of offers.

A trip of scale.

It's a cozy, centrally located place with everything necessary despite being a somewhat old hotel a personalized care first class care is located a few blocks from the main square also cater to rooms with breakfast and others plus the cost is within the margin.

Well, well, well, well.

My travel agency booked me this hotel. I really don't know why. Maybe this hotel is direct in the city center. But that's it!! The hotel looks like 40 years old. It smelled so ugly specially in the toilette, that we felt very uncomfortable! And the noise from outside didn't allow us to sleep. The breakfast was bread butter and jam, that's it. I would never go back and don't know why people recommend this!

Never ever!

I rarely make mistakes like that.
 Being lazy for a moment, I let a travel agent to book us at " a mid-price property at the heart of Santa Cruz".
Either the travel agent did not know the establishment at all and was misguided by hotel's advertised 3* status or he had a lazy day, too :-).

Judging from what we saw there, hotel's better days (if any) had had to be a remote past.
Compact rooms, old furniture, dirty carpets... thank god we stayed there for one night only.
On a positive note, Plaza de Armas was a walking distance (~10 min) away.
Historical centre of Santa Cruz is quite small though so the location of Tropical Inn was not all that great, as we found later.

Avoid

We stayed at the Tropical Inn based on TA's recommendation - it is a total dump, aging and dirty and the location isn't even that great. The place has nothing to recommend itself, the bathrooms smell, floors are filthy and about the only positive thing I can say was that I didn't actually find any bugs in the room. They also refused to serve us breakfast at 9.45am on Sunday despite the fact that the restaurant was full of signs saying breakfast was available til 10am on Sundays, and they charged us 10 Bolivianos for a local call that would have cost next to nothing. The place is a dump and a total rip-off at 290 Bolivianos a night - don't do it!
